ASSISI HOUSE FUNDRAISING FESTIVAL
Festival of POSITIVE AGEING proving
AGE HAS NO BOUNDARIES
no matter what STAGE OF LIFE you are at.
What is Assisi House? Easy….
Think youth club but for older people.
Assisi House is a social centre for older people who may find themselves isolated or alone. At our annual age-friendly event, we have something for everyone, no matter what age you are!
You can choose to walk, cycle, or just come along to the party, where we wil have age friendly games and activities back in the RSC. We will also have our own ‘Tea-room’ and ‘Tuc Shop’ with 100% of all the proceeds going directly to Assisi House Waterford.
To complete the event, every person attending will be invited to join us on the pitch to form a large circle for a ‘holding of hands’ ceremony. This ceremony reinforces – no matter your age or your stage of life – we are all important members of our community. Everyone entering on the day will receive a commemorative medal.
Novelty Cycle in aid of Assisi House led by Muiris O’Ceallaigh aged 81!
Come on your auld High Nellie or dress up and help us to prove that ‘age has no boundaries’. Everyone is welcome to come along on our family cycle to Tramore and back. Get that bike out of the shed and bring along the family. We’re pedaling for the fun of it. There will even be a prize for the best costume!
NO BIKE? …. that’s ok….
If participants want to take part in the cycle but do not own a bike, we have bikes to hire. For an additional €10 per person, bikes can be booked here and now to ensure you too can take part in our novelty cycle for Assisi House.
Bikes supplied by – Garvan Cummins “The Greenway Man”. www.greenwayman.com.
Fun Walk in aid of Assisi House led by Henry Moloney Senior aged 80!
Fancy a breath of fresh air and raising funds for Assisi House at the same time?
Our own Henry Moloney Sr will be taking to the Eco Park in Kilbarry leading the way for anyone wishing to take part in our fun walk. The beauty of the Eco Park is perfect for our event. No matter your age, your speed or amount of wheelchair wheels – All you have to do is be there!
This walk is in association with ‘Beat The Street’ where you can pick up some extra points.
Although dogs are allowed in the Eco Park, unfortunately, no dogs will be permitted into the RSC grounds – only service dogs. (Please be a responsible dog owner and keep dogs on a lease at all times and clean up after them.)
Everyone entering on the day will receive a commemorative medal.
